Interior Layout Design - Cengage
At Cengage, one of my primary responsibilities was designing engaging and accessible interior layouts for textbook products across various subject areas. Each layout encompassed all core components—front matter, chapter content, and back matter—ensuring consistency and clarity throughout the book.
My design approach balanced visual appeal with functionality, with a strong focus on:
Enhancing readability and learning flow for students
Meeting strict accessibility standards (including font choice, contrast, and structure)
Aligning with Cengage's brand guidelines
This influenced key design decisions, including the color palette, typographic treatment, and supporting visual elements. The goal was to create a cohesive, user-friendly experience that supported educational outcomes while maintaining a polished and professional look.
Genuis Explorer Workbook
I worked with a great team of designers and illustrators for this project. We completed a total of 10 workbooks. Each being between 50 to 90 pages. I teamed up with Jessica Jause to design the page layouts and covers. The talented illustrators are Courtney Scriven, Mina Roy, and Greg Matusic.
